Tenerife is like a natural adventure Code Playground where each day can be a completely different experience. From the heights of Mount Teide to the depths of the Atlantic, the island offers an endless array of possibilities. Every corner of the island holds its own magic: while in the north you can lose yourself in fairy-tale laurel forests, in the south golden beaches and crystal-clear waters await you. The diversity of microclimates allows us to enjoy adventure sports all year round, whether it’s surfing the waves, climbing ravines or, of course, soaring through the skies on a paraglider. And the best bit? You can go from hiking in Teide National Park to swimming in the sea in less than an hour. That’s Tenerife for you!
Explore the Paradise Beaches
Between flights, we love to chill out on the beach, and these are our absolute favourites in Costa Adeje.
First up is Playa del Duque, the crown jewel, with its golden sand, turquoise waters and that exclusive vibe it’s known for. Second, Playa Fañabé stands out with its Blue Flag status and comprehensive facilities, while La Caleta retains that charming fishing village atmosphere we adore. And finally, for those seeking more tranquility, the little treasure of Playa del Puertito is perfect for escaping the crowds.
In Costa Adeje, the beaches aren’t just gorgeous – they’re brilliantly maintained with top-notch facilities. You’ll find showers, toilets, sun loungers, parasols and a wide range of beach bars and restaurants where you can sample the local cuisine. Plus, most have access for people with reduced mobility and lifeguards all year round, making them perfect for families, couples or groups of mates.
Excursions and Adventures in Adeje
When you live in Costa Adeje, you have the privilege of enjoying one of the most beautiful natural settings on the island: Barranco del Infierno (Hell’s Ravine). When conditions aren’t right for flying, we make the most of our time hiking, canyoning or snorkelling.
If we’re talking about hiking or trekking, Barranco del Infierno has an essential route that takes you along a spectacular path to a 200-meter waterfall. The route requires booking in advance and is of medium difficulty, but the effort is well worth it – the views of the ravine are absolutely stunning.
If you’re a bit more adventurous, canyoning in the Taucho and Los Carrizales ravines offers a different perspective of the area. And if you’re after something more chilled, the coastal paths between La Caleta and Playa Paraíso gift you with spectacular views of the ocean and La Gomera island. On clear days, you can even spot El Hierro and La Palma on the horizon.
Water sports are another must in Adeje. Playa de las Américas is the perfect spot to get started with surfing, with gentle waves and several schools where you can rent gear and take lessons. For paddle surf enthusiasts, the Playa Fañabé area offers perfect conditions in the mornings when the sea is calm. And if you fancy diving, the seabeds of Las Galletas and Palm Mar hide black coral gardens and abundant marine life.
And for sea and sailing lovers, whale watching from Puerto Colón is a unique experience. The area between Tenerife and La Gomera is the permanent home of a colony of pilot whales and bottlenose dolphins. Excursions depart several times a day and last approximately 2-3 hours.

If you thought what we’ve told you is everything, you’re mistaken. In Costa Adeje, there’s so much to do that we wouldn’t have enough time to tell you about it all, but here are some other ideas we’ve come up with to make your stay unforgettable.
Family Plans in Costa Adeje
Costa Adeje is a family destination par excellence, with countless activities designed for the little ones to enjoy to the max. So don’t feel guilty if you’ve come attracted by the paragliding. Your family will also have thousands of plans to enjoy. The crown jewel is Siam Park, considered the best water park in the world, where you can spend an unforgettable day among slides and wave pools.
Always remember to bring sun protection and a good hat. And of course, there’s no place where children are happier than in the sand and by the sea. Fañabé and El Duque beaches are ideal for families, with calm waters, constant surveillance and all the necessary services: showers, toilets, play areas and beach bars with children’s menus. Plus, the area has a beautiful promenade perfect for strolling with the pram or taking a leisurely bike ride.
Shopping in Costa Adeje
Because not everything in life can be done from the air, in Costa Adeje we have wonderful shopping centres, perfect for shopping and enjoying a different afternoon. Siam Mall is the most modern and largest in the area. Its Thai-inspired architecture with open spaces makes it a very pleasant place to spend the afternoon.
The Safari Shopping Centre is a classic, with a privileged location and spectacular views of the ocean from its upper terrace. Here you’ll also find an interesting gastronomic offer.
For luxury lovers, Plaza del Duque is the most exclusive shopping centre in the area, located next to Playa del Duque. Its high-end boutiques, jewellery shops and designer stores make it the perfect destination for more sophisticated shopping.
And if you’re looking for the best deals, Galeón Outlet is your destination. This shopping centre offers well-known brands at reduced prices all year round.
What to do if It rains in Costa Adeje?
Remember that in Tenerife, the climate is so varied that while it’s raining in one area, it can be sunny in another. That’s why we always say it’s a paragliding paradise: there’s always a place to fly! And when the weather isn’t cooperating, there are thousands of alternative plans to make your stay unforgettable.
And if the rain is passing (which it usually is), you can always make a trip to Mount Teide, where you’ll normally be above the clouds. It’s a unique experience to see the sea of clouds from above while the rest of the island is covered. Plus, the Teide Visitor Centre offers fascinating interactive exhibitions about the volcano and its unique ecosystem.
If you’re more into cultural visits when it rains, we recommend visiting the Casa Fuerte de Adeje, a historical treasure that holds centuries of Canarian history within its walls. You can tour its rooms and discover what life was like in the time of the manors, admire its impressive defensive architecture and enjoy temporary exhibitions that connect the past with the present. Casa Fuerte won’t just protect you from the rain, but it will transport you through time, offering you a different but equally fascinating perspective of Tenerife.

After an intense day of flights, nothing better than completing the experience with the exquisite local gastronomy. Here’s a list of our favourite restaurants in Costa Adeje.
In the charming fishing village of La Caleta, Restaurante Salitre offers a unique Mediterranean experience where flavours blend with the freshest local produce. Their fish specialities, caught daily by local fishermen, will transport you to another gastronomic dimension.
Also in La Caleta, La Masía del Mar with its terrace that seems to float over the Atlantic. On the menu, seafood and fresh fish as varied as the landscapes of Tenerife.
For meat lovers, Char Fuegos y Brasas is the perfect destination after an acrobatic flight full of adrenaline. Their aged T-bone steaks, gourmet burgers and slow-cooked ribs are memorable.
After feeling the caress of the wind on your face and contemplating the majestic landscapes from the heights, these three restaurants will allow you to complete the experience with a feast for the palate.
Nightlife in Adeje
